THE PLACE
Covering 4,000 km² with a length of 320 km, this is one of the largest deltas in the world.
Unique wetlands with a significant environmental impact on hydrological, biological, and geomorphological processes.
A region of intense agricultural, livestock, forestry, and tourism activity.
A network of diverse streams, navigated daily by locals to sell products, buy supplies, or travel to schools.
THE CHALLENGE
Implementing a water level monitoring system in these channels to generate flood alerts in a region that is extremely difficult to access, only reachable by boat.
The vast expanse of the Paraná Delta presents a significant challenge: limited access to equipment and unreliable communication networks, hindered by dense vegetation and sparse population.
THE SUCCESS
We installed data loggers powered by an innovative, nearly invisible infrastructure based on IoT technology.
These ultra-low-power devices, with flexible external antenna connections, withstand harsh weather conditions and are designed to remain hidden to prevent vandalism. Three years after installation, with unprecedented efficiency and sustainability, we have successfully gathered historical water level data—an essential contribution to refining forecasting systems and restoring our connection with nature to improve health and well-being.
